How to Get Your Book Published.

If you’re reading this, you’ve likely submitted at least one manuscript to agents and publishers and are steadily building a collection of rejection letters/emails. It’s so frustrating, your book is really, really, good! All your friends and relatives think so.

If they’d only give you a chance, you know your book would be a best seller!

Okay, stop right there.

As a publisher I hear this all the time. Frankly, the idea of some unknown novelist submitting their first (or tenth) novel and getting an agent or publisher to sign them on that one manuscript is pure fantasy.

I know you’ve read somewhere that some person did just that and got close to a million dollars advance, and their book became a best seller.

I don’t doubt it happened, I doubt you understand WHY it happened.

Nearly every would-be novelist has an altruistic view of the publishing industry. They look at authors like Hemingway, Steinbeck and Faulkner and envision themselves among them. Submitting first drafts and letting the publisher’s army of editors knock the book into shape while they travel the world in search of adventure.

Fantasy. Pure fantasy. The reality? Hemingway, Steinbeck and Faulkner wouldn’t be published in today’s industry.

 You may strongly disagree, but that’s not the point. If you want to get published you must learn what attracts agents and publishers, who is presently buying books, and learn how TODAY’S publishing industry works.

Basically, you have to stop writing, get off your butt, and find out how to attract readers and sell books. Unless you understand that, you’re just wasting your time.

One option is to self-publish. I did just that and the learning curve is brutal. Self-published books look awful. The covers are amateurish, fonts overdone and overall, basically scream incompetency.

Second option is to use a vanity press. Simpler, but the results are the same. No editing, a small number of cover templates to choose from and, you have to order the copies from them, at an outrageous mark-up. When all is said and done, the book is priced out of the market.

We take your manuscript, already edited for spelling and grammar and edit it for pacing and engagement. We know what people want to read and what will keep them reading. We take out extraneous words, run on sentences, bluster, soapbox comments and remove the mistakes almost all amateurs make. We don’t change the authors voice or style of writing.  We simply make easier and more enjoyable to read.

They do not want to edit, that do not want to create a buzz, they don’t want to find you an audience, and they do not want to publicize.

What they want is to jump on the bandwagon of a new author who clearly understands the business, already has a marketable book for sale and has a steadily increasing number of readers!

We show you how to make that happen.

After the first edit, we send you a copy for review, you look it over and comment on the changes. While you do, we create the front-cover and the back-cover blurb with ISBN number. All covers are individually created, there are no cookie-cutter templates to choose from. Your book will have an original cover that is bright, attractive and engaging.

 After conferring with you on the edited copy and make any requested adjustments, we have a galley proof (sample) of the entire book created and sent to you. This is your opportunity to make any final adjustments.

Once done, we’ll have the book featured for sale on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions. Then, Ari Communications turns over the completed and published book to the author. The author then has sole access to the printer for additional copies, they can sell it for whatever price they want, wherever they want,  or offer it on their website and keep all the money from sales. Ari Communications receives no royalties, or any compensation whatsoever once the process is completed.

There are no contracts. This means should an international publishing house contact the author and offer to publish and market their book, the author is free to sign with them.

Here’s what we offer. A fully edited, professionally bound and covered book that has a distinct and one of a kind cover, with a promotional blurb on the back with its own ISBN number.

The author will have full access to the printer company we used to create the book, or the author can choose any book printing company they may prefer.

In addition, you will receive a video compilation that takes you through every aspect of the marketing process. It will show you how to get your book into bookstores, how to create Facebook, Google, Amazon and Twitter ads that are laser-targeted and only seen by the people who have indicated an interest in your genre or expertise. It will provide links to organizations that publicize and promote books, how to find independent bookstores that will carry your book.

It will instruct you on how to generate more readers, how to network with other authors, and where to go to find readers interested in books in your genre.

The price? Five-hundred dollars to start and five-hundred dollars when the book is completed. This is for a book up to 325 pages, it is an additional dollar a page after that. This is for fiction and non-fiction manuscripts. Book with colorful photos and illustrations are costlier and require a detailed conversation before any money changes hands.

Note-We do not publish illustrated books, graphic novels, pornography, hate literature or any type of manuscript a major house would automatically reject.

Your book is your flagship, it represents you and the quality of your work. If you want to be regarded as a professional author and taken seriously by major publishing houses and agents, your book needs to look the part.
